EuroMillions draws take place every Tuesday and Friday, with entry closing at 20:45 CET. The lucky numbers are drawn in Paris - five from the main drum (numbers 1 to 50) and two Lucky Stars (numbers 1 to 12). Participants must select five main numbers and two Lucky Stars for each line.

To win the jackpot, all seven numbers must be matched (five main numbers and the two Lucky Stars), but there no fewer than 13 lucky prize tiers offering a cash prize.

The EuroMillions jackpot often rolls over, but once it reaches a spectacular €190 million it is capped and, if there are still no lucky jackpot winners, prizes are distributed among winners of the next prize tier.

The EuroMillions lottery was first drawn in February 2004, and because it has a generous habit of rolling over, it has made a wide range of people into instant multi-millionaires - just like Neil Trotter from Coulsdon, Greater London, who scored an amazing £107,932,603.20 in March 2014.

The Draw

The EuroMillions draw uses two machines - the first to select the five principal numbers between 1 and 50, and the second to select two Lucky Star numbers between 1 and 12. For the five main numbers, there are four machines named Stresa 1 to Stresa 4. For the Lucky Star numbers, there are also four machines - Paquerette 1 to Paquerette 4. One Stresa and one Paquerette machine are used per draw, with the remaining six machines ready for backup should anything happen to them. Five dark red balls are randomly selected from Stresa and a further two gold balls from Paquerette to determine the winning combination.
